In order to ensure timely processing of your valuable samples and the quality of the RNA that we are able to provide, please conform to these basic shipping and scheduling guidelines.
Contact Us
Before any samples may be shipped the study and Investigator must be registered with GPCL and a clear understanding of the study established. If you have not yet contacted us, you may contact us by email or phone (412-648-9440).
Labeling
All sample containers must be labeled according to the specifications in the Protocols/Procedures section of the website.
Notification
A sample log sheet must be received with all samples. A standard sample log sheet can be emailed to the investigator to be used for all sample drop-offs.
Packaging
All specimens must be packaged and mailed in containers that conform to postal regulations.
Shipping
Ship samples only Monday through Wednesday using Next Day Delivery. Samples are received Tuesday through Thursday to ensure receipt and to allow for tracking and shipping errors. If other shipping dates are required, arrangements must be made with the Specimen Processing Project Manager.
Tissue samples collected in RNALater may be mailed at room temperature overnight to be received within 7 days of placing the tissue into solution. If you are storing samples in RNALater at -80°C, RNALater MUST BE REMOVED prior to freezing and the samples shipped overnight on dry ice. Tissue samples collected fresh and then snap frozen in liquid nitrogen should be shipped overnight with sufficient dry ice.
Cells from cell culture may be shipped overnight with sufficient dry ice for subsequent RNA extraction.
