You must be a registered facility user before submitting any samples for processing. If your laboratory is new to our services, please register here.

Overview

The Genomics and Proteomics Core Laboratories, located on the third floor at 3343 Forbes Avenue, operates an AB Prism 7900HT for realtime PCR analysis with all the accessories necessary to accept 96 and 384 well optically clear PCR plates as well as the AB Taqman Low Density Arrays. (TLDA). The instrument is compatible with a number of flourogenic probes as well as SYBR green based detection.

The GPCL offers two levels of service for realtime PCR.
  • Full service - Investigator brings RNA and assays. GPCL performs reverse transcription, PCR and first order data analysis

  • Instrument run only - Investigator reserves time on the 7900HT and brings a plate ready for PCR. Instrument output file is posted for retrieval. Data analysis is done by the investigator’s laboratory.
For an excellent introduction to the technology, please see the ABI document: Essentials of Realtime PCR or the AB web site.

A more in depth explanation of realtime PCR analysis approaches is provided in the ABI document User Bulletin #2
