GPCL Sample Submission Guidelines for Instrument Run - Realtime PCR

You must be a registered facility user before submitting any samples for processing. If your laboratory is new to our services, please register here.

  1. Contact GPCL for instructions regarding data analysis.
  2. Log in to MYGPCL. (if you do not have a username, please register here.)
  3. Select the Taqman link under Schedulers.
  4. Reserve the desired day and plate type. In order to provide equitable access to the instrument, any one laboratory is limited to two runs per day.
  5. Bring your plate(s) to one of our on campus drop off locations by 3 pm on the day of your reserved time.
    1. Drop off locations are 3343 Forbes Ave Room 303, and S534A Scaife Hall
    2. Please be sure to complete a Taqman Sample Submission Form. Hard copies are available in the drop off rooms.
      1. Standard cycling conditions for realtime PCR are:

        95°C for 12 minutes
        40 cycles of:
        95°C for 15 seconds
        60°C for 1 minute

        Please note clearly on the drop off form if other cycling conditions are required.
  6. Data will be available by the close of business the following day. To retrieve it:
    1. Log in to MYGPCL
    2. Click on the Taqman Data link under Get Data
    3. Click on the link for the current data file.
    4. Save locally.
  7. The Bioinformatics Analysis Core is available to assist with data analysis. Contact a representative for a consultation.
